Travelling to other places is quite thrilling most especially if that place is new to you, a place you have yet to visit before. Just think about all the exploring you can do while you are in that strange place. You might even meet new friends along the way. That would be wonderful for sure but if you find out you have nowhere to stay in that place, would you still visit the place? I’m pretty sure some of you would back out by then. It’s quite difficult to enjoy the place if you have nowhere to sleep so do what you can to find the best and cheapest hostel in the place. You might even think about renting a car to make your stay even better. You can visit bmwpedia.net to browse for cars that could take you anywhere in the place.
Hotel 'Friends by the House of Books' has something to impress its guests! All of those and even more you will find in 'Friends by the House of Books'!
Friends Life hostel was formed from the merger of Friends and Hostel Life, two of St. Petersburg’s most popular hostel brands. The new hostel has over 20 rooms including dormitories and both single and double private rooms with en-suite facilities.
A fantastic location and a superb atmosphere are the two biggest draws to the original Friends Hostel. With super-friendly staff, innovative design and a great price to quality ratio, it’s no wonder that we made our name with this place. The location is also superb, just moments away from Nevsky Prospekt, several metro stations and all the most famous sights of the city.
On the street, which Chekhov himself once lived, there is now a modestly sized, but very cosy hotel, decorated to remind its guests of some of this great writer’s immortal literary works. The eight rooms at Friends on Chekhova are notable for their cleanliness and comfort, and were renovated at the end of 2013. Facilities – a mini-kitchen, shower cubicle, and toilet – are shared between two rooms. There is also a one-room apartment with its own separate entrance.
You literally can’t get more centrally located than this place, on the corner of Nevsky Prospekt and the Griboyedov Canal, one of Petersburg’s most beautiful waterways. Yet this place is still wonderfully peaceful, as it’s inside a large courtyard (while many rooms still have views over the canal and the Kazan Cathedral…) Hard to beat? You bet!
In July 2014, there was another new addition to the Friends hostels family, as a brand new hostel opened its doors on Liteiny Prospekt. Eye-catching and cosy, the hostel offers great value for money and is very friendly. There are not many rooms – just 12 in total – but they include eight- and ten-bed dorms, and private rooms with shared or en-suite bathrooms.
Our brand new Friends on Lomonosova hotel is situated on Ulitsa Lomonosova, just a few minutes’ walk from Sadovaya, Nevsky Prospekt and Gostiny Dvor. We offer 20 comfortable rooms with en-suite facilities (shower and toilet) and a bespoke design with a unique friendly atmosphere.
What could be a better than getting to know St Petersburg while staying on its world-famous main avenue? The location is fantastic, with the bright lights and beautiful sights of the city all around, while the hotel itself is provides a uniquely friendly atmosphere in a delightful historic building with just 13 rooms.
Our biggest hostel is located in a beautifully converted historic building just a short walk from the Moscow Station and St Petersburg’s main avenue, Nevsky Prospekt. The hostel opened at the end of 2012 and offers both private rooms and multi-bunk dorms with all possible comforts and facilities. The dorms give incredible value for money and are the lowest priced beds at any of our hotels.
Calling all passionate travellers!
Welcome to Friends, a collective of hostels in St Petersburg, Russia’s dazzling cultural capital that offers you a totally new and social way to spend your time in St Petersburg. Friends is the biggest chain of youth hostels in St Petersburg and in Russia, but our real secret is our staff: experienced world travellers who, like you, are eager to meet people from all over the world and who understand the needs visitors to this wonderful city will have.
As our name suggests, Friends hostels are a place to meet and get to knowlike-minded travellers as well as local staff, a place to share experiences and, perhaps most importantly of all, a safe and comfortable sleeping option in a city that we know can seem a little challenging to first time visitors! We like to think of our hostels as a cosy refuge from the outside world!
All our hostels are centrally located, just a short walk from Nevsky Prospekt, St Petersburg’s famous main avenue, meaning that you will always feel right in the middle of the action. When our first hostel in St Petersburg opened in 2006, hostels were still a fairly unknown quantity in Russia: we used our experiences travelling in Western Europe as a basis for what hostels in Russia needed to be; no longer just functional, cold places to stay for as little money as possible, but a really warm and friendly home from home for people who want to get as much as possible out of their visit to St Petersburg without having to spend too much money. At the moment Friends hostels can only be found in St Petersburg, but there are plans to expand the network to other cities in Russia – watch this space!
So if you’re looking for a unique and exciting way to discover St Petersburg, then look no further than Friends, a place for travellers run by travellers in the heart of Russia’s simmering cultural capital.
